The ALF has once again been able to help get multiple Guinness World Record holder, Lexi Chambers, to the start line of her next record endurance event in a new wheelchair fit for the task.
Having provided a wheelchair for her to complete a 12-hour non-stop arena record in 2023, which she then used for her John O’Groats to Lands’ End record breaking event, she approached the Trustees again for help with a replacement to support her 2026-2027 plans.
On 23 July, Lexi will start the gruelling mountainous Alpe D’Huez leg of the Tour de France as a training warm up for a 4,812km coast to coast event in the USA in 2027. Lexi was presented with her new chair at the recent ALF 10s rugby tournament, and it was a delight to have her with us despite being so close to the start of her next challenge.
