Injury No Barrier to Adventurous Winter Training

The ALF has supplied four seated skiing sets for the Defence Recovery Adventurous Training programme for use by injured service personnel on Adaptive Alpine Skiing courses in Bavaria.

The courses are part-funded by the RBL Battleback Programme but the equipment has to be sourced separately, and the current inventory is overused and in urgent need of replacement.

Aaron’s former Commanding Officer, Colonel Neil Wilson, heads the Army Adventurous Training Group which oversees Defence Recovery Adventurous Training, so he approached the ALF to seek support for the equipment. ALF Trustee Steve Fraser then worked with the voluntary head of the Adaptive Skiing Programme, Lieutenant Colonel Adrian Williams and seated skiing specialist and Winter Paralympian Sean Rose from Seated Sports to create an inventory of replacement items which are now ready for delivery.

Neil and Adrian will attend the ALF 10s at Westcliff RFC on 12 July where the Trustees will have the honour of presenting the equipment in front of players and event supporters.
