Disabled Veterans Take to the Calm Seas

A group of disabled veterans have been able to enjoy the thrill of sailing thanks to continued funding from the ALF.  The Disabled Sailors Association (DSA) operates a fully accessible yacht and this is the third veteran’s day the ALF has been able to fund.

In writing to the Trustees after the most recent day, Susan Simmons from the DSA stated ‘The DSA recently hosted a sailing day for 8 veterans, with gratitude to the Aaron Lewis Foundation for covering the costs of providing the day.  Most of us have thoroughly enjoyed an unseasonably warm and sunny spring but the lack of wind was not ideal for the day of sailing.  However, our veterans still had a fabulous day, soaking up the sunshine and enjoying a day of fishing.  Thank you to the Trustees of the Aaron Lewis Foundation for making this another very enjoyable day for disabled ex-service men and women.’

We are very honoured to continue supporting the DSA in their work to promote all-inclusive sailing, especially for the injured veteran’s community, and our thanks go out as always to everyone who made this support possible.
