ALF Hosts First Gala Lunch

The Aaron Lewis Foundation (ALF) held its first gala lunch at Westcliff Rugby Club on Saturday 12 April. The lunch, attended by 85 guests and foundation supporters, was preceded by a friendly rugby match between two sides from the Essex Tridents American Football team, both sporting ALF rugby strips.

Following the lunch, presentations were given by ALF Trustee Steve Fraser and former Bath and London Irish rugby player, Tom Homer. These set the scene for an excellent auction, that included two signed rugby shirts and an engraved Commando Dagger that raised over £1000 for the charity.

The trustees were particularly pleased to be able to thank a number of long-term supporters in attendance including Carl Webb and his team from Andrew Sykes Group, the Lakeside Harley Davidson Chapter and the Shoeburyness Royal Artillery Association.

The next big event in the ALF calendar is the rugby 10s event at Westcliff RFC on Saturday 12 July 2025.
