The ALF Trustees are delighted to have been able to provide funds to help 29 Commando Regiment complete essential annual maintenance and safety checks on their Regimental welfare vehicle.
The Swift camper van was purchased in 2022 with funding from The ALF and several other charities. Since its grand unveiling in Plymouth (pictured), it has provided hundreds of Regimental personnel with the chance to get away with friends and families for a fraction of the cost of a commercial rental. However, increased use has brought increased support costs which the ALF have been happy to cover for personnel safety and to prevent depletion of other unit welfare funds.
Following discussions with the Regimental Welfare Team, it has been agreed that going forwards the ALF will ringfence funds for a long term maintenance and support programme that will guarantee continued availability of the camper for years to come.
