Christmas is always a bittersweet time for Aaron’s family and friends, as December 15th marks the anniversary of his passing in Afghanistan. To honour his legacy, we make it a priority every year to give back to those who may also be struggling over the festive season.
This year, we continued that tradition. Helen Lewis visited St Vincent’s Homeless Centre in Southend, where—thanks to the support of Matalan—she delivered 70 gifts filled with practical winter essentials for those in need.
From there, Helen joined Ben Burton and Molly Little from Viking Physical Therapy at Neptune Ward, Southend Hospital, to bring some festive cheer to children spending Christmas in hospital. The gifts, generously discounted by Argosy Toys in Southend, helped make their holiday a little brighter.
Looking ahead, the Trustees are in discussions with St Vincent’s to explore further ways we can support them throughout the year. None of this would be possible without the generosity of our supporters and the dedication of our incredible ALF team—thank you for making this happen.
Together, we continue to honour Aaron’s memory by making a difference.
