Aaron’s Regimental rugby team are now sporting a new rugby kit following a collaboration between the ALF and a Plymouth business.
Sergeant Dan Pullen, who has attended a number of the ALF 10s games in Essex, approached the Trustees to seek help funding a new strip for the 29 Commando Regiment team. Initially, the ALF were prepared to pay for the whole strip but because of Dan’s parallel efforts in Plymouth, a local business came forward with 50% of the costs.
The kit got its first run out against The Scots Guards and Dan said he was amazed by the number of compliments the kit attracted, although he was less forthcoming with the score from the game!
In writing to thank the ALF on behalf of the whole 29 Commando team, Dan said ‘It is humbling to know that we have such dedicated supporters who understand the challenges we face and stand behind us. Your [ALF] commitment to our mission and well-being truly inspires us to perform at our best, and we are proud to carry the values you embody into our service. Additionally, your support extends into our rugby endeavours, which play a significant role in fostering camaraderie and resilience among our team.’
As always, that team of dedicated supporters extends far beyond the group who run the ALF, it includes all those who donate and encourage us to keep serving others in Aaron’s name – especially those he served alongside in Hellmand.
