A wheelchair and power-assisted handbike combination that was originally purchased by the Aaron Lewis Foundation for Conall in 2017, and then passed on to Bethany in 2019, is available for another beneficiary.
The system would suit a teenager or smaller adult (although the recipient will need to check sizes and suitability on viewing). As a guide, the wheelchair dimensions are as follows:
– Seat width: 40cm
– Seat depth: 41cm
– Back height: 44cm
– Distance from seat cushion to foot plate: 43cm
Anyone interested should contact the Aaron Lewis Foundation by e-mail: info@aaronlewisfoundaton.org.uk
Once confirmed, the Foundation will put the proposed recipient in contact with the current user and the equipment will need collecting from the Colchester area. The Aaron Lewis Foundation accepts no liability for beneficiary suitability or subsequent use, but would be prepared to consider covering the costs of any repairs or servicing required by a new owner in Essex or anyone service/ex-service linked beneficiaries throughout the UK (in accordance with the Aaron Lewis Foundation charitable objects).
