The ALF is very proud to announce that the disabled children of a Royal Navy veteran in Plymouth are now able to safely access their whole recently adapted house because of a lift funded by the ALF.
As part of a major package of disability-imposed alterations to the family home, the ALF was asked if it could supply a through floor lift. With 2 children suffering from a rare neurological condition, the lift will provide safe access to the whole house now and more importantly in the future as their mobility challenges become greater. This had been recommended by the children’s occupational therapy team but without the funding required (on top of the cost of the other alterations).
In speaking to the Trustees following the installation, the children’s parents stated ‘The support from the Aaron Lewis Foundation has been amazing and we are eternally grateful that they have assisted in purchasing a through the floor lift for our home. With our home already under a number of major alterations to help our children further as their condition deteriorates, they are now able to continue to use the entire home with ease due to this lift.’
This was a major commitment for the ALF but we were delighted to be in a position to help due to the ongoing support of our fabulous donors and followers.
