THE Aaron Lewis Foundation is feeling revved up after receiving a donation of £2,300 from a group of motorbike enthusiasts.

Members of the Lakeside Chapter of the Harley-Davidson Owners Group raised the cash with a string of events in 2021 in spite of Covid lockdowns.

Chapter secretary Lorraine said: “At the beginning of the year, these were mainly virtual events such as a coffee morning and virtual ride out. We then held an online auction which raised around a quarter of the total.”

Members also predicted results for the football Euros and held a number of raffles.

Lorraine added: “We also have small plastic ‘HOGS’ which some of our members fill with loose change. We collected for the ALF at the Billericay Christmas Market and we also received a small donation from the Billericay Round Table, which was included in our total.”

Aaron’s parents Helen and Barry Lewis visited the Chapter to collect a cheque for £2,305.05 a few weeks ago.

Helen said: “This wonderful group have been fantastic supporters of the ALF for several years now and have continued that through Covid, which is so much appreciated.

“We have invited them to join us at the ALF 10s rugby tournament in the summer, so we hope to see as many of them there as possible.”
