The Aaron Lewis Foundation has provided a rugby wheelchair for injured former RAF veteran Lee, from Warminster. Lee was injured in service and again on operations, eventually leading to the amputation of his right leg below the knee. He approached the Foundation via ALF Trustee, Steve Fraser.
The chair was supplied by Roma and Lee travelled to Bridgend for specialist fitting; in his words, “The chair looks and feels amazing; it’s going to make a massive difference in comparison to the club chair I’ve been using just in time for the next round of the Southern development league”.
Lee struggled mentally and physically after leaving the RAF and the opportunity to begin wheelchair rugby has been a lifechanging experience for him. “I honestly can’t thank you and the Aaron Lewis Foundation enough for this, it has made a massive difference to my life. I’ve just had my first major Great Britain wheelchair rugby tournament at the Stoke Mandeville stadium. Having my own chair really did make a massive difference.”
