ALF Rugby 10s Un-daunted by the Heat

The annual ALF 10s tournament took place at Westcliff Rugby Club on a hot 4 July and delivered a rugby spectacular and celebration of Aaron’s life as good as ever.

Unfortunately, due to the tough playing conditions and several other commitments, no women’s and only a scaled-down men’s tournament took place, with the Island Drifters triumphing.

Ahead of the prize giving the ALF were honoured to present multiple World Record Holder, Lexi Chambers, with a new wheelchair that she then used to break another world record – conquering the Alpe d’Huez route ahead of the Tour de France riders.

The event was extremely well supported by spectators, local businesses and volunteers allowing the ALF to raise a fabulous £3800 for our work supporting causes across Essex and the Service/Ex-Service community nationally. As always, our thanks go out to the teams, individuals and groups who made the event possible.
