The ALF have funded another sailing day for disabled veterans using the specialist roll-on, roll-off accessible catamaran The Spirit of Scott Bader.
The boat is operated by The Disabled Sailors Association (DSA) based out of Gosport, and we have had the privilege of supporting a number of injured veterans to sail with them over the years. During recent hot conditions, being on the water was a tonic for all of the participants, including those in wheelchairs that are able to access the bridge and take control of the helm.
The DSA have been busy this year trying to expand their capabilities while also refurbishing the existing fleet, so it was a delight for us to provide just a little bit of support to enable more veterans to get onto the water with them.
