Simple Things – 24/7 Impacts

Following a chance meeting between Barry Lewis and a Leigh-on-Sea resident, the ALF has provided a new washing machine and tumble dryer for a family with 2 disabled adult children. Due to one of the children’s conditions, a near 24/7 strain is placed on the family appliances and these simply wear out. After discussing their daily challenges, we were quite prepared to fund more ‘heavy-duty’ replacements to guarantee availability and longer life, but space in the home sadly did not permit this.

However, the new machines came just when they were needed, and the family (who have asked not to be named) contacted Helen Lewis following delivery and installation to state “The appliances have a huge impact in our daily family lives, and without this amazing support, we would have found simple washing a struggle along with the basic upkeeping of our family needs.”

It is wonderful for the ALF to be able to do something a simple as this for a local family in their hour of need. As always, our thanks go out to all our supporters who make these outcomes possible.
