A group of veterans and staff from The Beacon in Catterick have completed the arduous Walking With the Wounded 2025 Cumbria Challenge and were comforted in the hills by their ALF provided Dry Robes.
ALF Trustee Steve Fraser met the team on a recent visit to The Beacon homeless veterans centre in Yorkshire and, during a review of the event and other activities for the year, the idea of Dry Robes was suggested by staff member Emma and immediately supported by the Trustees. With their combined military and sporting backgrounds, the ALF team were acutely aware of the safety benefits of the robes, so it was real privilege to be able to deliver on this excellent request.
As always, the provision was only possible due to the efforts of the staff at The Beacon and the continuing kindness and generosity of ALF supporters, and we hope to see as many as possible at our Rugby 10s event in Essex on 12 July 2025.
