The Aaron Lewis Foundation has received a kind donation from Poppy, who is 8 years old.
Poppy was invited to complete her first distance badge with her swim school. Originally, she was going to attempt 800m (which is 40 lengths).
On the day of the swim, things went very well and Poppy felt strong enough to keep going. She ended up completing a tremendous amount of lengths- 100 to be precise- which is 2000m!
Before completing her distance badge, Poppy asked is she could make it a sponsored event. She had been inspired by her Uncle Dave who completed the London Marathon and raised money for The Aaron Lewis Foundation a few weeks prior to her own sporting event.
Poppy is familiar with the foundation because of this and also because she plays rugby at Westcliff Rugby Club. The ALF also helped a fellow pupil at Poppy’s primary school by giving him a hand powered bike a few years previously.
The Aaron Lewis Foundation is extremely pleased to receive this donation from Poppy and would like to congratulate her on her hard work, strength and endurance!
