ALF BENEFICIARY, TONY, IS “OVER THE MOON” WITH HIS NEW WHEELCHAIR

Article by Julia Harvey

In November, Aaron Lewis Foundation Trustee Steve Fraser met up with Tony from Bristol to check out his brand-new manual wheelchair. The ALF-supported chair has made a huge difference in Tony’s life after he recently underwent life-changing surgery. Tony is “over the moon” with the chair, which is light enough for him to get in and out of his car without any assistance. He has tried it out on wheelchair journeys and is now able to enjoy the natural environment, which is important for his well-being.

Earlier in the year, Tony met with ALF supporters from the Lakeside Chapter of the Harley-Davidson Owners Group during their weekend event in the Southwest. He is determined to ride with them again and is modifying his motor-trike so his new chair can fit safely and accessibly on the back.

The ALF helped to fund Tony’s chair with a contribution from Tony himself, a voucher scheme operated by the NHS, and the remainder from the ALF. This would not have been possible without the generosity of supporters like the Lakeside Chapter and many others.
