Having chosen The Aaron Lewis Foundation as their charity of the year for 2015, Barratt Homes/David Wilson Homes have recently made us a very generous donation of more than £30,000. We are so grateful for this sizeable donation, which will help to change lives. We greatly appreciate this wonderful partnership, as well as all the hard work and effort that went into raising an amazing amount of money.
Staff from Barratt Homes/David Wilson Homes raised the £30,153 for ALF by holding a series of very successful fundraising events throughout last year. This included a golf day and auction in May at Stoke by Nayland in Suffolk, which raised £17,252. As well as a clay pigeon shoot in September, held at High Lodge Shooting School near Hinton in Suffolk, raising £11,000, along with cake sales and a Christmas raffle.
Helen Lewis, ALF trustee, said: “It has been a pleasure to be involved with Barratt Homes/ David Wilson Homes; they have supported The ALF over the last two years, following the naming of the road in memory of Aaron at their Clements Gate housing development in Hawkwell. Now they have raised such an amazing sum of money. We really to appreciate all their hard work and effort.”
The £30,153 from David Wilson Homes will be used to fund a number of projects. The ALF is currently working on providing storage for sensory equipment for Little Heroes, a group which supports children with autism, and a boat renovation project for veterans with post-traumatic stress disorder.

Our two big fundraising events were a great success and we are delighted to have raised such a fantastic amount for this extremely worthwhile cause. Our sub-contractors and suppliers also showed great generosity and played a tremendous part in helping us to raise the money. The foundation carries out hugely important work and it’s great to know the money we raised will make a significant difference to many lives.”
