The ALF gazebo was up again at the new Westcliff Rugby Club (WRFC) site on Sunday 13 March for the inaugural WRFC minis tournament. It is hoped the new annual event will not only bring on future senior players within the club, but also raise awareness of the ALF.
95 teams and some 1000 young players, battled hard in near perfect conditions at the event that saw entrants from across the region.
The ALF leadership and supporters were kept busy talking to young players, parents and supporters as well as selling event programmes, tee-shirts and other branded merchandise.
With the return of the ALF 10s tournament on 9 July this year, it was an excellent chance to update the information boards, remind people about the ALF and start some planning for the 10s event with key representatives from the club.
