ALF beneficiary breaks Double World Record

Previous Aaron Lewis Foundation Beneficiary Lexi Chambers is the new Guinness World Record holder for the fastest female half and full marathon in a non-racing wheelchair.

She achieved her incredible accolades at the Bridgwater Half Marathon in Somerset on 4 September and then the iconic London Marathon on 2 October 2022.

Despite a long-term chronic health condition that halted her nursing career for the NHS and ultimately led to a leg amputation, Lexi has kept her mental and physical wellbeing strong throughout her hard physical pursuits, and in 2020 the ALF funded a recumbent handbike for her to return to her outdoor endeavours that she credits to her eventual double marathon records.

Lexi is so grateful for the support she has received from the ALF and is now planning another major event in 2023 where she will use the same wheelchair combination to complete the ‘Lands’ End to John O’ Groats journey’ to raise funds and awareness for the ALF and another charity linked to one of her marathon events sponsors.
